We commend you on your decision to apply for the Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program (TRHLP) at Dickinson State University!  The TRHLP sets the standard for liberal arts education and leadership development.

The TRHLP is inspired by the life and legacy of the 26th President of the United States.  As a TRHLP Scholar, you will learn about the characteristics of effective leaders, global leadership, leadership and change in addition to 21st century leadership.

Please review the criterion for admissions into the TRHLP.  The checklist provides an opportunity to assure the application and supplemental materials required are complete.  Dickinson State University’s Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program is highly selective and has limited spaces.  All participants must be baccalaureate degree seeking.

Will enroll at Dickinson State University:

Incoming freshmen must have a 3.5 grade point average or higher in high school, or a score of 26 or higher on the ACT, or a score of 1170 or higher on the SAT.

DSU will have rolling acceptance for the TRHLP. Students who are interested in the program are encouraged to apply early. Qualified DSU and transfer students may enter the TRHLP in the fall only. These students must make up all required coursework for the Leadership Studies minor. Transfer students must have a college/university GPA of 3.25 or higher.

If you are a driven individual seeking to improve academic, social and leadership skills, the TRHLP encourages you to submit this completed application. 

• A two to three page essay addressing the following questions:
  • Comment on books and readings that have impacted your life philosophy
  • What experiences have helped to shape your life?
  • What gifts, talents and abilities do you possess which will enhance the TR Program in addition to the university community?
• A resume that lists extracurricular activities you are/have been involved in, highlighting leadership positions held
• Two letters of recommendation (at least one letter should be from someone who can comment on your academic abilities)
• A copy of your high school transcript (college/university transcript if you are applying as a transfer student)
