The Excellence in Marketing Awards recognise innovative events and campaigns that deliver outstanding results for the retail property or precinct and the community.

Community Engagement Award

A stand-alone ‘Community Engagement Award’ is presented to the Excellence in Marketing nomination with the strongest community-focused campaign. This will be picked from the pool of nominations across the asset sizes, at the judge's discretion.

This award will provide an opportunity for the industry to showcase and celebrate the efforts of centre staff to support and strengthen the communities they serve.

Please provide a written statement that outlines how the nomination responds to the following criteria.

1. CAMPAIGN SYNOPSIS
Briefly outline the situation, measurable objectives, strategy and quantifiable results, explaining how the entry addressed your specific needs.

2. SITUATION ANALYSIS
Include any background information leading to the reasons for your campaign or project and any unique qualities about your retail property or precinct that necessitated specific goals, strategies or tactics. This includes research, relevance of goals to situation, overall marketing rationale and thoroughness of the plan.

3. OBJECTIVES
Clearly and specifically state the desired results sought in the campaign or project. Objectives should be measurable and show their relationships to the budget.

4. MARKETING STRATEGIES AND IMPLEMENTATION
Include appropriateness of strategies to objectives, the size of the retail property or precinct and its location (i.e. CBD, community regional, etc.). They should also address the campaign’s implementation, the impact of the campaign on the target markets, the professional quality and the appropriateness of all elements. Include the extent of retailer involvement.

5. EXPENSE SUMMARY
Provide a detailed list of the cost involved in executing the plan, including the percentage of your total marketing budget used in this campaign. This includes specific breakdowns of all production, media, labour costs, fees, services and incidental expenses as well as any information that shows evidence of creative and/ or resourceful cost saving measures and budget efficiencies. In other words, what was achieved for what was expended.

6. RESULTS
Address the impact of the campaign on the target market, the appropriateness of the promotion and the effective use of the budget by demonstrating the correlation between the results and the plan’s objective with quantitative, documented facts. Each result must include a documented source and specific explanation of how the result was measured. For example, sales results should be listed as quantitative items, should distinguish between comparable or total figures and include a time period for which the results were measured. Other ways of showing results include traffic counts, primary research results, actual publicity time and/or space achieved, specific actions occurring as a result of the objective and other benefits achieved.
