The Biddy Mason Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce our annual Scholarship program, created to assist current and former LA County foster youth. Submissions will be open starting February 10th, 2025. Scholarship funds may be used for attendance at high school, college, or graduate programs. All accredited educational and vocational institutions will be considered.
Eligibility requirements:
- Must have been or currently be a dependent (foster child) in the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS);
- Must be registered for the 2025/26 academic year with an accredited educational institution: secondary school, vocational school, community college, 4 year college, or university;
- Minimum GPA: 2.5.
Required documentation:
- Most recent transcript from current educational institution;
- A 500 word personal statement describing your background, your educational plans, your goals for the future, your service to your community, and any challenges you have encountered.
To be considered, the application and supporting documentation must be received no later than May 16th, 2025. All application documents, including personal statement, must be completed and submitted solely by the applicant student, not by a third party acting on behalf of the student. Scholarship awards will be announced no later than August 2nd, 2025.
