Palestine as a lens to collective liberation

From police brutality in Philadelphia to child detentions and military occupation in Palestine, the U.S. is implicated in the intersectionality of systemic racism across borders. This webinar will center Black, Palestinian, and Jewish panelists who will discuss:

  • common struggles in countering racist systems of white supremacy and Zionism
  • efforts across movements and borders to build a collective liberation movement
  • solidarity, our role in this movement. 

Directly following the Webinar, at 4:45, there will be an opportunity to share thoughts and reactions in a one-hour informal discussion hosted by the Tikkun Olam Chavurah and moderated by Rabbi Linda Holtzman. The link for this new conversation will be shared during the Webinar.

Speakers will include:

Reverend Dr. Leslie D. Callahan is the first female pastor of the St. Paul's Baptist Church. She a native of Gary, West Virginia, a graduate of Harvard University, Union Theological Seminary, and Princeton University.

Sa’ed Atshan is an Assistant Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies at Swarthmore College and author of Queer Palestine and the Empire of Critique.

Rebecca Pierce is an African American and Jewish filmmaker in San Francisco
