Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this year's plans for Arbaeen have been significantly modified to provide services needed and requested by our Iraqi colleagues, brothers and sisters.  Current plans include a medical camp in Karbala, in-person training in COVID-19 protocols & disaster medicine, public health information for pilgrims/zawaar, and the continued provision of free medications/medical supplies and equipment. 

As in previous years, the IMI Annual Arbaeen Conference will focus on hands-on training for our Iraqi colleagues, students and Ataba personnel. Currently planned courses include: 

1. Basic Life Support (BLS)
2. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
3. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
4. Disaster Management
5. Emergency Preparedness & Response
6. Pre-Hospital Management of Hemorrhagic Trauma
7. Nursing: Wound Care, Compression & Offloading

Training & Certification Details: 

• NEW: Training session covering wound care basics including characteristics, healing, drying agents, and debridement.  
• Training on-field triage for mass casualty incidents using the "SALT" methodology and certification through Imamia Medics International. 
  
• Training in Emergency Preparedness principles and Emergency Response strategies using Incident Command Systems as well as certification in Disaster Management through Imamia Medics International
• Training in Introduction to BLS (not BLS for AHA certification)
• SESSION FULL.  Training and Certification from American Heart Association in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, & Pediatric Advanced Life Support.* ADVANCE REGISTRATION DEADLINE for AHA Certification: Thursday, September 16, 2021

Courses taught by Imamia Medics instructor(s), who will be experts in Disaster Management and certified to teach by American Heart Association and Stop the Bleed program.
