Safe ways of working should be in place, and can be demonstrated by the provision of method statements/risk assessments

Are diving operations required as part of this work?
If so, have safety boats been considered? Does the towpath need closing? Will additional navigation restrictions be necessary?

Has a permit from the Environment Agency been applied for?
Any works undertaken to land adjacent to 'main rivers' such as the River Cam require consent from the Environment Agency in respect of their possible impacts on flood risk, water quality and navigation. There may be exceptions to this requirement for some types of work, and advice should be sought from the Environment Agency.
