TRANS Release and Waiver of Liability

Activities

The Participant desires to participate in the TRANS industry awareness program and engage in Activities related to preparing for the careers in construction ("the Activities). The Participant understands the Activities may include constructing and rehabilitating residential buildings, using a variety of hand and power tools, visiting active worksites, and other physical and construction-related tasks. Construction may require the use of potentially dangerous objects, tools and electrical equipment, loading and unloading, and transportation to and from the work site. Participant understands that construction is a hazardous activity which may require the use of power tools, and may involve excavation, demolition, and work on treacherous terrain. Participant understands that a heightened awareness of the surrounding environment is required for safe working.

The Participant hereby freely, voluntarily, and without duress executes this Release under the following terms: 

Participant understands that this Release discharges SCC from any liability or claim that the Participant may have against SCC with respect to any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from Participant's Activities with SCC, whether caused by the negligence of SCC or its officers, directors, employees, or agents or otherwise. Participant understands that SCC does not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide financial assistance or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health, or disability insurance in the event of an injury or illness.

Medical Treatment: Participant does hereby release and forever discharge SCC from any claim whatsoever which arises or may hereafter arise on account of any first aid, treatment, or service rendered in connection the Participants Activities with SCC.

Assumption of the Risk: The Participant understands that the Activities include work that are potentially hazardous to the Participant. Including but not limited to, construction, loading and unloading, and transportation to and from work sites. 

Participant hereby and specifically assumes the risk of injury or harm in the Activities and releases SCC from all liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage resulting from the Activities.

Insurance: The Participant understands that, except as otherwise agreed to by SCC in writing, SCC does not carry or maintain health, medical, or disability insurance coverage for any Participant. 

Each Participant is expected and encouraged to obtain his or her own medical health insurance coverage.

Photographic and Personal Details Release: Participant does hereby grant and convey unto SCC all right, title, and interest in any and all photographic images and video and audio recordings made by SCC during the Participants Activities with SCC, including, but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds, or other benefits derived from such photographs or recordings. Participant also grants SCC permission to use personal details for promotional and other materials.

Resumes and Job Development: Participant does hereby grant and convey permission to distribute resumes and share information with prospective employers as part of TRANS job development efforts.

Other:  Participant expressly agrees that this release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, and that this Release shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin. Participant agrees that in the event that any clause or provision of this Release shall be held to be invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such clause or provision shall not otherwise affect the remaining provisions of this Release which shall continue to be enforceable.
