Schooling Procedure For NGA Meets

The procedure of obtaining positions for pre-stake schooling at the NGA Meet requires that the NGA receive, by 3 p.m. the work day preceding each day of schooling (either by mail or fax with the form below, or by phone) the following information:

1) total number of pups being schooled and veterinary certification of required vaccinations for each schooler
2) the number of boxes (races) needed
3) which day you’ll be schooling
4) 5/16 or hand school

At 3 p.m. on the day preceding schooling (ie Friday, for Monday’s schooling), a drawing will be held of all nominators who have applied to school for that particular day. Based on the order drawn, staggered numbers (representing the number of boxes requested) will be assigned. (Example: If you’re name were drawn first, and you had three boxes, you’d be assigned races 1, 5 and 9.) Schooling-draw results will be made available at the office after the draw or the following morning (the day of schooling).

It’ll be the nominator’s responsibility to have his pups ready to load at the right box on time. (Normally 35 races are run per hour, but allow for more time due to possible scratches. Please be on time.) Any box of pups that doesn’t show on time will have to be re-assigned a new number, which will be available at the judges’ stand. Schooling starts at 8:30 a.m. on all schooling days.

All reasonable effort will be made to run all schooling programs, but in the event of a cancellation of schooling, all cancelled races will be moved to the next day (unless voluntarily scratched) and will be drawn in with those requests for the next day at the 3 p.m. draw on the day of cancellation. Cancellation of schooling on Friday will bring a conclusion to the pre-stake schooling for the week, with all receipts for the day refunded.
