Ventura County Community Development Corporation (VCCDC) is thrilled to partner with the City of Camarillo to bring you the Camarillo Workforce Housing Down Payment Assistance Program! This program is designed to help local working households purchasing in Camarillo achieve their dream of homeownership. With up to $50,000 in the form of a ten (10) year deferred loan, low-and moderate-income first-time homebuyers can receive the financial support they need to make their homeownership dreams a reality. Our partnership with the City of Camarillo underscores our shared commitment to supporting the community and helping individuals achieve their homeownership goals. 

Please note you do NOT need to currently live or work in Camarillo to qualify.

Submitting this interest form and/or a mortgage application does not guarantee a loan or program approval. 

VCCDC will review your application for both eligibility for the Camarillo Workforce Housing Down Payment Assistance (DPA) program and mortgage loan qualification. 

After submitting this interest form you will get a confirmation email with detailed instructions on how to apply. PLEASE REVIEW THE ENTIRE EMAIL FOR FULL DETAILS.

VCCDC will begin accepting applications on Tuesday, December 12 at 9:00am. Any applications submitted before then will NOT be reviewed.  

We will not accept applications that are not submitted through the secure link provided in your confirmation email; please don’t email, fax or drop off at office.

Please ensure you submit a complete application and all required documents for ALL adult household members (18 years and older).

Do I need to live or work in Camarillo to qualify? 
No, you do not.

Do I need to be pre-approved to apply?
No, you do not.

Do I need to have a Realtor or property identified to apply?
No, you do not

Do I need to provide a Homebuyer Education Workshop certificate when I apply?
No, you do not. You can register at www.vccdc.org/events and provide the certificate after applying.

What is considered a complete application?A complete application must include 1.) Camarillo Workforce Housing DAP Application filled out and signed; 2.) Borrowers Certification & Authorization for all household members over 18; 3.) Applicable documents each household member over 18, even if they are not going to be a part of the home loan (all documents mentioned will be emailed to you once you submit this form.

Is there a minimum score requirement? 
Credit reports for all Applicants older than 18 years of age will be required. FICO scores must be a minimum of 660. The ultimate credit decision to approve the Applicant’s mortgage loan rests with their primary lender. The purpose of reviewing the credit report is to project the likelihood of future loan repayment. 

Applicants shall have sufficient income and credit worthiness to qualify for primary mortgage financing. A bankruptcy that is less than three (3) years old, a short sale or a foreclosure that is less than Four (4) years old will automatically disqualify the applicant. 

On a case by case basis, the Camarillo Workforce Housing DAP may consider exceptions for extreme extenuating circumstances (including, but not limited to, divorce or death of a spouse).
