Release and Indemnity Agreement

WARNING: Under Kentucky Law, a farm animal activity, or a farm animal professional, or other person does not have a duty to eliminate all risks of injury of participation in farm animal activities. There are inherent risks of injury that you accept if you participate in farm animal activitie.

I/we hereby indemnify and agree by this signing to release Spring Run Stables (Stable/Owner) and all associated persons from liability for any accident or injuries sustained by me, my employees, heirs, representatives, dependents or guests. It is understood that wherever the words “Stable/Owner” are used in this agreement it includes Spring Run Stables, Inc., landowners, stable owners, trainers, independent contractors, employees, and any other individual related to the ownership or management of the horse facilities, including, but not limited to, the following named individuals: Susan and Jeff Perellis, Dr. & Mrs. Greg Steinbock, Barbara Hartung, The Inn at Spring Run Farm, Linda Betts and Sam McLean.

As an owner, student, competitor, spectator, employee, independent contractor or parent, I/we, the undersigned, recognize that all equestrian related activities are extremely dangerous, that accidents involving horses are frequent, that the condition of the land is often hazardous, and that ring footing is rarely perfect. The undersigned further agrees to wear protective riding equipment including, but not limited to, a hard hat where deemed appropriate by the Stable/Owner and to cooperate fully with the Owners in observing all rules and regulations for the premises that are promulgated by Stable/Owner. In light of this knowledge, I/we undertake full responsibility for all harm that comes to me/ourselves and my/our stock and all of my/our associates. With full knowledge, I/we release the hereinabove named Stable/owner from any and all responsibility for accidents and injuries.

Signing this release implies that I/we have adequate medical and liability insurance/protection and that the Stable/Owner will assume no responsibility for horse or rider. Losses occasioned by the injury or death of rider, spectator or horse is agreed to be covered by the insurance of the undersigned and it is further agreed that the undersigned heirs, representatives, dependents or guests hall have no right or action against the Stable/Owners, employees, independent contractors, landowners or any of their insurance carriers.

If the person is under 18 years of age, signature of the parent or guardian indicates acceptance of responsibility by said parent or guardian and release of liability of the Stable/owner and affiliated persons.

If damage is caused by or to the undersigned’s horse or horses (including, but not limited to, escape from enclosures), the undersigned takes full responsibility for damages to persons, property or other horses and agrees to indemnify Stable/Owners against liability for such damages. 

The undersigned further agrees to indemnify Stable/owner against any liability for physical loss or injury, or damage causing death, or making destruction necessary to horse or horses in Stable/Owner’s care.

It is understood and agreed that the Stable/Owner assumes no responsibility for personal property of the Horse/Owner’s and said property is Stored on the premises at the sole risk of the Horse/Owner. this with a title or description
