Participation Bursary application 2025

If you have any questions about the requirements, please contact access@gsmd.ac.uk before starting this form.

This form is for applications to the Participation Bursary only. If a Participation Bursary is awarded, the applicant must ensure they complete the course registration form provided by the required deadline, or their place on the short course will be awarded to another applicant.

You will not be able to save the form as you go, so please ensure that you have gathered the required information and evidence before you start.

Eligibility

To receive a Participation Bursary, the applicant must:

-Have no previous experience of Higher Education
-Be UK-Domiciled

You are a recipient of means tested financial support at Junior Guildhall or a CYM Centre

You live in a household with an annual income of £33,001 and £46,000 (only applicable for in-person courses)

Declaration

The Participation Bursary is offered as part of Guildhall School of Music & Drama’s Access and Participation Plan commitments, which must be thoroughly evaluated. Participants must therefore engage with evaluation activity, and consent to future interactions with the School being monitored, including the outcomes of any applications made to the undergraduate programmes. Participant details will be used for internal reporting purposes only - all reporting to external bodies will be anonymised.

An offer of a Participation Bursary is confirmation of the financial support only, and is not confirmation of the place on the Short Course. Those awarded a bursary will have a place on their chosen course reserved for them, but this place is not confirmed until the course application is completed via the link provided in the offer email. Applicants will be advised of the deadline to submit this application. If the application is not submitted by the deadline, the reserved place will be released.
