Gen Newton Aviation Camp applicants:

IMPORTANT DETAILS - Note the below requirements are for IN PERSON Operations.  N/A if we go Virtual

Parent/Guardian and students over the age of 16 coming on base must provide date of birth and social security number for base access. This is needed for drop off, pick up and the graduation ceremony.

If you are uncomfortable or unable to use our online application system, you can Email a password protected application to education@tai-albuquerque.org. Applications may be submitted by school faculty if students don’t have access to a scanner. Selected students and alternates will be notified by May 20th.

The Col Alvin Drew Space Camp involves some overnight travel and additional expense for meals. A limited number of stipends are available to cover the cost of meals based on financial need. The parent signing this application should submit the summary page of their form 1040 from their latest federal income tax filing. Social security numbers may be omitted/obscured. These documents will be destroyed after the completion of the camps. Standard accommodations may become available for the overnight portions of the camp, however students should bring sleeping bags and towels. We also recommend inflatable air mattresses if available.

If selected for the Col Alvin Drew Space Camp, a $25 Camp Deposit will be due 15 days before camp. Parents should ensure their children have sufficient funds to cover meals, and if desired, purchases at various gift shops we may visit. The estimated cost of meals for the week is approximately $80-$120 depending on the dining options selected by the student.

Behavior expectations: The camp is a professional environment staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers willing to invest in the academic development of our students. All camp participants are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times. They will follow the directions of the chaperones and give the speakers their undivided attention. The camp staff will not tolerate inappropriate behavior or language. Camp participants who do not adhere to these requirements will be removed from the camp, and will forfeit the $25 deposit. In this event, the parent will be called to pick up their child from the location of the camp, including Magdalena, Las Cruces, and Alamogordo.
