The pronouns and ages listed are those of the characters.

Thomas – He/Him, any ethnicity, Mid-30’s to Mid-50’s

Thomas is sharp-witted, fiercely opinionated, and deeply passionate about pop culture and Princess Diana. Uses humour a bit like a shield. Though he can be intimidating and aloof, at his core, he longs for connection. He is the longest-standing member of Casey House.

** ATP & The Citadel encourage actors from the LGBTQ+ community to submit for this role.

Princess Diana – She/her, caucasion, 30’s

Compassionate, warm, charismatic, and thoughtful. A courageous humanitarian, who listens attentively. The beloved People’s Princess.

Vera – She/her, any ethnicity, Mid-20’s – mid 50’s

A highly skilled and dedicated nurse at Casey House. A leader. Fiercely protective of the hospice and its clients. Working diligently to provide a stable atmosphere, even as Diana’s upcoming visit stirs excitement.

Marjorie – She/her, any ethnicity, Late 40’s – mid-70’s

Volunteer. Very invested. Maternal energy but with a rebellious streak. She is an enthusiastic ally. In her grief, she sometimes blurs professional boundaries. Positive, hopeful, lighthearted.

Andre – He/him, any ethnicity, Mid- to late 20’s

A brand new resident to Casey House. Thomas’ roommate. Struggling and isolated, he is new to Toronto and estranged from his family. Overwhelmed by grief and declining health, he wrestles with alienation, often reacting with anger and resistance.

** ATP & The Citadel encourage actors from the LGBTQ+ community to submit for this role.

Pauline – She/her, any ethnicity, Early 30’s to late 40’s

Thomas’ sister. Headstrong and opinionated. Was once an important part of Thomas’ social circle. Overwrought with grief and fear, she is often aggressive, but deep down has the capacity for compassion and change.
